10 days of prayer for VBS
Compiled by Laura Vickery
This coming week, more than 100 kids are coming to Creekside for Vacation Bible School (VBS), where they’ll learn about Jesus and how following Him changes the game. Of these 100-plus kids, more than 50% don’t attend Creekside.
Please use the following 10-day prayer calendar to join us in prayer for the kids, their families, the volunteers, VBS director Tammi Curtis and Creekside Kids’ Director Nina Spencer, and for God to be glorified through it all.
Friday, July 21
Pray for VBS director Tammi Curtis and Creekside Kids Director Nina Spencer as they finish up with the last-minute plans and preparations.
Saturday, July 22
Pray for all of the VBS leaders (Bible story, Bible memory, craft, games, snack and worship) and that God would grant them strength, wisdom, and love as they lead.
“We love because he first loved us.” - 1 John 4:19.
Sunday, July 23
Pray for all of the VBS volunteers and ask God to help them serve and do everything with kindness, patience, and love.
“Let all that you do be done in love.” - 1 Corinthians 16:14
Monday, July 24
Pray that participants will recognize that Jesus is holy and will call on His name.
“‘‘And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’” - Acts 2:21
Tuesday, July 25
Pray for participants to understand that Jesus is trustworthy even when they doubt.
“fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10
Wednesday, July 26
Pray that participants will learn that Jesus forgives even when they sin.
“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” - Colossians 1:14
Thursday, July 27
Ask God to help participants grasp that Jesus is worth following even when it gets tough.
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.’” - Acts 4:12
Friday, July 28
Pray that God will reveal to participants that Jesus is for everyone, including them.
“‘To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.’” - Acts 10:43
Saturday, July 29
Pray that VBS will continue to bear fruit and glorify God.
“By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” - John 15:8
Sunday, July 30
Pray for VBS Sunday today, that God would be glorified, that Creeksiders would love the visitors well, and that the newcomers will learn about God’s love and come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” - Ephesians 2:4-7
