Fall is Here
By Steve Gregg
It’s hard to believe, but summer is over, and the school year is here. UF and Santa Fe classes start next week and with them, the fall and all of its activities arrive. It means the pace of life speeds up a notch or two and that includes Creekside. Here are some of the things that will be swinging into gear in the coming weeks.
Kick off Sunday August 28th
We’re excited about starting our new sermon series in Galatians. It will also be the first Sunday that our new Worship Director, Stephen Powell will be leading worship for us. Be sure to welcome Stephen and his family to Creekside. There will be a potluck-style fellowship lunch after the service to give us a chance to meet visitors and catch up with each other.
One Another Groups
With summer coming to an end, our small groups at Creekside, called One Another Groups (or OAG’s), will all be back to meeting on a regular basis. We have several new groups starting this fall and will have plenty of room for folks to join. These groups meet weekly in various homes throughout the week for time in the Word, prayer, and fellowship. These groups are a significant part of our life together as a church. If you want help in plugging into an OAG, reach out to us at smallgroups@creekside.com or to Pastor Steve at steve@creekside.com.
Treasure Seekers
This ministry for kids aged 2 years old to 5th grade meets on Sunday evenings at 5 PM. It’s a great opportunity for your kids to get some time to enjoy a Bible lesson, have fun, and build relationships with other kids. Treasure Seekers will start September 11th at 5 PM in our Fellowship Hall.
WOW and MOPS
We are grateful for two great ministries to women at Creekside, Women of the Word (WOW) and Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPs). Women of the Word, a Bible study group, will start Tuesday, September 6th at 9:00 AM. They will be offering 2 studies, a Jen Wilkin study of the gospel of Matthew, and a Precept study of the minor prophets (Amos, Malachi and Zephaniah). If you’d like to attend the Tuesday morning Bible study, you can sign up at www.creekside.com/women. Click on the Precept button under Women of the Word. MOPS will gear up for the fall on September 14th, at 9 AM. For more information about MOPS, reach out to Allie Lovett at allie.p.lovett@gmail.com.
Welcome to the Family
Being a part of a local church is vital for a Christian’s spiritual walk and membership is an important part of our involvement. Our Welcome to the Family class is offered several times throughout the year to give people a chance to find out more about Creekside as well as being a pathway to membership. Our next class will be September 9th & 10th, kicking off with dinner Friday evening and continuing Saturday with sessions ending mid afternoon. If you are interested in finding out more about Creekside and considering membership, please reach out to Emily Purcell at Emily.purcell@creekside.com
